Susan Palmer is the President of Insurepointe of Texas, Inc .
Before being named President of Insurepointe in March 2014, Susan had the dual role of Operations Manager and Commercial Lines Department Manager responsible for the company’s day to day general operations as well as commercial lines new business marketing and oversight of commercial lines service standards. Susan has been responsible over the years for development of standard operating procedures & quality control standards, implementation & utilization of database management systems, licensing & compliance and advancing company & vendor relationships.
Prior to joining Insurepointe (previously known as Grether & Associates) in 1982, Susan was a commercial account manager at Victor Huvelle & Associates, a local Houston independent insurance agency, where she was responsible for servicing a commercial book of business which included many business sectors. Before migrating to the agency side of the industry, Susan began her insurance career in 1979 at the Houston office for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company where her duties included rating, policy preparation and supporting the team of commercial underwriters.
Susan holds a General Lines Property & Casualty License, Risk Manager License, and Surplus Lines License for the State of Texas as well as numerous non-resident licenses for other states. Susan also has attained the Nationally recognized continuing education program – Society of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation which she has held since 2001.
Susan and her husband Michael have resided and worked in Houston for over 40 years. When not thinking insurance, Susan enjoys everything outdoors and is especially fond of enjoying their four-legged family members, visiting National Parks, hiking, gardening, and bird watching.
